Davo got us fielding first at Cowgate. No worries as we had new recruit Tom Seymour and Pratty opening up the attack. No wickets came off the opening 6 overs of 14 but Kirkwood were constrained. Davo missed out on a sharp c&b but then smartly ran out the none striker with incredible dexterity from a return hit in his first over. Don then came on at the other end and promptly took out 3 men with his first 7 balls, aided by catches from Chris Robson at mid off and Davo at square leg with one bowled. The last ball went for 6 but damage was done. Davo and Don continued and ended with Davo: 4-0-34-4 and Don 3-0-28-4 with some big sixes at both ends. Pratty cleaned up with the final wicket for 3.2-0-21-1 and there was a catch for Tom. He recorded 3-0-24-0.

Rowlands reply saw Ben hit 74* with 6 big sixes and 4 fours, supported by Chris with 34* and 6 fours. Sensible running between the wickets always had Rowlands on top as Kirkwood tried 5 bowlers who could not stop the onslaught. Ben took MoM again. Job done in 7.7 overs and maximum points.

There was a strong batting lne up to follow that was not required and all did well in the field; Brian went home to polish his stopper boots; Roy did nothing wrong at third man and Ralph, Craig and Phil were spotted in the field!
