On the social side of things, the Dublin cricket tour is now in an advanced stage of planning. All flights and hotels are booked, and nearly everyone has paid up. A full itinerary for the trip is finalised, with all to be announced very soon. The match against Phoenix CC in Dublin is all arranged, as is the post match barbeque. As we have 15 people on the tour, the team for the match will be selected using the normal process and of course a 'last man standing' policy will also be in operation.
The Sage CC golf day is taking place at Tynemouth Golf Club on 24th August. Paul Mclauchlin is kindly organising the event. The committee have noticed that many golf handicaps quoted are higher than batting averages. If you're interested in taking part, but haven't replied yet, please do so ASAP.
....and finally, the inter Sage game will bring down the curtain on the season on Sunday 3rd September. The day will be the usual fierce rivalry followed by a barbeque and the presentation of the Sage Challenge match trophy and of course the end of season awards. Further details will follow, but please get the date in your diary now, and make sure you bring the entire family (and friends, if you have any) for what is always a day full of crack, banter, beer, barbeque and sun.
