Fenham's cunning plan to stay in Div 2 looks doomed to failure with back to back victories against Adders and Coquet. First up were Adders who proved tough competition, but Fenham rattled up a good score of 139 in 14 overs with Mukhtar once again hammering the attack with 47 supported by Riaz 37.
Adders batted well but Fenham's deadly pace bowlers proved too difficult to score off, Riaz getting 2-29. Mukhtar picked up his 2nd MoM award.
Thursday's game saw us visiting Wallsend and Coquet did well to restrict Fenham to 117 off 16 overs with both sides boasting a 100% record. Once again Riaz leading from the front with 40, with support from Siggy 22 and Mohsin 18. The pitch was slow though and Coquet could only struggle to 73 with Mukhtar ripping through their line up with 5-28. Zak took two wickets with only 11 runs conceded, and 8 of those were wides. Surely a case of ball-tampering we suspect. Thieving refugee Mukhtar once again took MoM and skipper Riaz ordered an investigation with threats to shop him to the Home Office after being robbed once again.
Tonight's match is another tough one at Genetics. Report to follow.
