Second League Week Results

Carolyn Woods and Ray, new sponsors of the League, have uploaded their photographs taken at the Merz & McLellan Cup. See: http://www.cazrayphoto.co.uk/

Carolyn lives in Gateshead and when not at work is out with her camera. She especially loves sport and for the past 3 years has been photographing cricket in the North East Midweek League and Northumberland Three Counties league. Also along with her other half Ray she has a love of wildlife and is regularly seen out and about capturing the wildlife of the North East.

Season off to a Good Start

The first set of fixtures produced some interesting scores and results with maximum points for GEM over the Champs, Kirkwood, Ryton, new team Stonebridge Spitfires and P&G. The first century has been scored by Marcus Turner for new team King's School OLd Boys and Blyth Duncan of Kingstonians claimed a 5-fer in their tie with Three Tuns.

Full details from the Merz & McLellan Cup which Beamish & East Stanley won by 75 runs, playing the League President's XI on Sunday 25th April.

Beamish win the Merz & McLellan Cup

Beamish ran out winners on a good day for all at Swalwell CC. Beamish made 227-7 off their alloted 40 overs with Anthony Ward hitting 62, D Lumley 31 and G Craig 39 not out. Wickets were shared.
In reply the President's XI skippered by Paul Smith made 152 all out in the 31st over with Javed Malik 43 and Richie Smith 31. Adam Tinnion claimed 3-59, Richard Deacon 2-16 and Bowes 2-13.
