Good game of cricket last night. Good win, with Trevor taking 3 for 8, and deservedly winning the Man of the match. Astonishing catch by Martin! We all like Backworth, just the getting there is a problem!

Great start to season with cup victory over teh Travellers. our ten (including John Earlie!) managed to post a score on a difficult track, thanks to the returning Alan Brice's 51*, and good fielding and bowling then won the match.

A club record 119 stand by Chris Wilkie (74 not out) and Martin Eve (52 not out) set Tyne Tees a formidable 156 off 14 overs. Despite their opening bat scoring 86, a good bowling and fielding display saw them all out for 112, Lalith picking up 4 for 22. A great way to end a very enjoyable season!
