RCA storm into semi finals

RCA stormed into the semi finals with a 9 wicket victory in double quick time. Aletaster batted first and scored 110/3 with Andy Horner the only bowler taking a wicket 2-0-19-2 however Guy Saxton bowled well for 4-0-12-0. RCA where quickly into their stride and completed the victory in 7.1 overs with Nick Tomlinson (41) batting well before being BBQ'd and James Davidson completing another good innings 62*. RCA look to face either Beamish or Old Record Players in the semi final.


RCA mathematically champions as Davidson hits the nervous nineties again!

RCA confirmed themsleves as champions after completing their 10th league win in a row. Batting first RCA scored 170/2 despite losing Shaun Collins first ball, Alan Hynd (43) & James Davidson (98*) rebuilt the innings to get RCA to an impressive total. West End put up a valliant efford but finished 144/7 despite some big hitting late on. Martin Ronan again impressed 3-0-21-2 with Eddie Collins being a little more expensive 4-0-34-4.


New RCA Batting record and another 10 points.

RCA passed 200 for the first time and TC Stonnoch tied the league all time individual batting record scoring a magnificient 158 with 17 x 4s & 8 x 6s. James Davidson was the only other player to score double figures with 30 and RCA finished with 221/8 in their 16 overs. Nine Pins where never close to the rate and where all out for 80 with all the bowlers [picking up at least one wicket.Guy Saxton 1-13, Don 2-30, Brian Allan 1-14, Graeme Redpath 2-16 & Justin Smart 2-10.


RCA win high scoring encounter

RCA continued their impressive league form with an 8 wicket win at home to Kirkwood. Kirkwood won the toss and elected to bat and scored 158/5 with Shaun Collins taking two wickets and James Davidson 1 with 2 run outs. The RCA reply did not start well when Brian Allan was BBQ'd in the 2nd over and Shaun Collins was then dismissed for 15 in the 4th over. However Nick Tomlinson (46*) and man of the match James Davidson (74*) timed the run chase to perfection and saw RCA home with 5 balls remaining to claim an 8 point victory.


10 points for RCA @ West End

Rowlands kept up the charge for the league title with a 10 point win against West End. Batting first RCA posted 153/3 with Graeme Redpath batting through for 63 not out. James Davidson scored a quick fire 37 and Adrian Conway kept up his good form with 25 not out. West End then struggled to 83 all out with the wickets again being shared about. Martin Ronan again impressed 2-0-13-2, DOn getting back to form with 3-0-21-3 and James Davidson completeing a good all round performance with 2.3-0-27-2.
