Adders Shoot Down the Eagles!

Rob Tulip and Roy Haygarth contrived to lose the toss so we fielded first at Pont. Ant Quarrell hit three fours off the first over from Peter Finch but then Pratty tied them down well. Finch grabbed a brace in his third over with two superb C&Bs for 3-0-27-2 and Pratty stayed tidy with 3-0-20-0. Hassan Raza and Don Catley then had marginally more runs off as some wickets fell and so did the light! Ben O'Brien with a good catch in the deep started off Don's 4-0-32-3 haul followed by a catch at the stumps by James Hays and another plumb LBW! New boy Raza was useful with 4-0-31-1 bowled in a good all round fielding performance with the skipper threatening any misdemeanours! 158-6 was the Pont posting in 14 overs.

Adders snaked home before the weather became too intolerable thanks to six hitting Ben O'Brien's undefeated 69, aided mainly by Jim Carr with a steadier 22. Opener Raza hit 10 and Roy gloved an LBW for 5. Mike Marshall did not trouble the scorers and Hays was 0* as a 6 wicket victory was recorded in 11.4 overs ahead of heavier rain.
