CCC star Alasdair Douglas left Blue Flames replete with trophies following an eventful cricket league agm on Friday night.
The former Genetics all rounder enjoyed an emotional evening having coincidentally sat on the same table as his League Championship winning ex-teammates, by virtue of which he picked up a trophy-by-association.
"It's been an emotional night for me", sobbed the overcome Scot as Don Catley dished out the awards. "I'd like to thank Rabbie Burns, Jon Rob, and Mudassar Amin. It means an awful lot to me. They mean an awful lot to me. The plastic gold and glittery things mean an awful lot to me. I covet these trinkets."
In a fantastic evening of celebrity glamour two further awards came CCC's way thanks to the Special Nominations category. These were: Most Improved Midweek League Cricketer - Guy Finkill, and Services to Cricket - Mudassar Amin.
Neither player was there to collect their awards, so former ORPs star Douglas loaded them into his Pickford's Removal van to take home for safe-keeping. They are currently in secure storage in either his CCC trophy cabinet, or his ORPs trophy cabinet. His Genetics one is now full.
