HILES PILES ON THE AGONY
CCC were outplayed on a gorgeous evening at South North as Spitfires' opener Hiles blasted an unbeaten ton.
In a carbon-copy of the season's opener against KSOB a whole month ago CCC lost the toss and then failed to dislodge a powerful opening batsman, who brought up his hundred - the first anyone could remember against CCC - with a straight six.
The score of 152-6 was always going to be a tough ask, but for the second time this season CCC batted abysmally with everyone below par and no game plan whatsoever. Only Peter and Greg (both 22) reached double figures as CCC failed to reach a team hundred, being bowled out for 98. This on the best batting track in the north east with perfect visibility and a harmless bowling attack (for whom Wolsey achieved a 5 for, probably his most unlikely ever given the conditions being so much in the batsmen's favour).
Vast improvement needed.
