CCC racked up 9 points last night in a comfortable win over Humshaugh at Cochrane Park. The visitors chose to bat on a balmy midsummer's night, but struggled to 72-9 off 16 overs. Matt (4-1-6-3) and Keith Reader (4-0-10-4) did the damage. Amazingly CCC again dropped 5 chances, with several others almost going to hand on a typical bowler-friendly Cochrane Park pitch. One batsman who ignored the pitch totally, however, was Rian, who struck his third successive 50: 55 not out out of 73-4 in the 10th over. An outstanding effort.
A further bright spot was the reappearance of Derek (as spectator) after rugby coaching commitments. he has announced his likely availability for future matches.
