CCC finished the 2006 season a creditable third in the 2nd Division table, their best ever finish. Gateshead Fell and Genetics are promoted. CCC were well beaten only twice, and it could be argued that on both occasions (Coquet away and Genetics away) they were victims of losing the toss. Certainly at Wallsend v Coquet the pitch fiasco counted against them. The other five league defeats were all close, all going to the final over, and 3 to the final ball (Gateshead, Genetics, Adders). One victory was obtained off the final ball (Monkseaton, home), as was a tie away to Gateshead. With a little more killer instinct CCC could have won this league.
