Oceans CC were comprehensively beaten by divison 5 Northstar in a friendly match played in Cowgate. Northstar batted first and it must have been Christmas coming early for their batsmen as Oceans bowled woefully and with little thought and imagination. They offered over 50 extras and were very wasteful with the new ball.Only Gulam and Rian deserve any credit for stemming the flow of runs.
In reply, Oceans looked a very well beaten side after the first ball of their innings when the dangerous Rian departed without scoring. It did not get any better as another three wickets fell leaving Oceans reeling on 27/4 off 4 overs. However, experienced pair Sonu 33 and Ratty 35 offered some resistance and never allowed a complete capitulation. Oceans finally finished on 123/9 from 17.3 overs.
