Rowlands turn up the Heaton West End!

Played at the Medicals, Matt won the toss and he and Davo put on over 100 for the first wicket before Davo was well caught in the deep at lengthy mid on for 43 (four 4s and a six). Matt batted on and on for a Rowlands career best 84 Not Out (eight 4s). Meantime Lewis scored 4 before offering a caught and bowled and Roy did not quite get his timing right but ran well with Matt for 6 not out. Rowlands made 150-2 off their 16 overs with West End doing lots of chasing.

The West End innings was wrecked by the pace and swing of that man Sax, making a guest appearance. He took out 3-4 runs in four overs with three of these maidens. Guy Scholes coped well behing the stumps. John McRedie bowled 3-0-16-0 suffering a couple of missed chances. Don replaced him and again bowled with accuracy for 4-1-12-3 to reach 20 wickets for Rowlands so far this season. Sax took a simple catch for him at square leg. James Morris 4-0-13-1 bowled with venom and was tidy. Lewis threw up some airy ones in the last over to try to prise out the last two wickets but got hit for 13 instead! West End finished on 67-8 to give RCA a comfortable victory.
