Fenham chose to bat and Jarrod with Dave Charlton were Shaun's front line strike force. Jarrod bowled 3-0-20-1 and Dave 2-0-9-1 according to the Fenham book and this included a few boundaries and a six off Jarrod. All the Fenham batsmen played as if they had a taxi waiting! Eddie came on with 19-0 off 2 and Don, in a miss-understanding with the skipper was put on at the wrong end and had no direction in the strong cross wind, so was taken off after one over for 12 runs, including a six.Shaun and James bowled out the rest of the 14 overs innings with Shaun having the best figures of 3-0-18-4, despite two fours off his first 2 balls! James impressed with pace and his 3-0-27-0. There was a good run out by Shaun and they only had 10 men; same as us. Fenham scored 112-7 with Mukhtar 33 and Mohsin 34. Aiders kept well and there were really good catches from him, Roy, Eddie and Jarrod.
The Rowlands reply was based on front line attack with James and Ross going for runs off everey ball almost. James was dropped a couple of times to difficult chances but then Ross fell to an easier one for 20 (all 1s and 2s). Shaun came in to hit a boundary and 2 sixes after getting his eye in and finished off the job. Man of the Match, James hit six 4s and two sixes in his 63 not out. The Fenham lads kept finding themselves in the wrong field placings as our heroes alternated between quick singles and big boundary shots. Rowlands won by 9 wickets with 116-1. Apart from umpires Aiders and Don, the rest of the lads were probably happy to watch and keep out of the horrible wind.
