Rowlands Retain the Championship!

Old record Players won the toss and elected to bat. Ed and Macca bowled some good balls and others that defecter Andy Horner took delight in despatching. With the score on 15 a swift pick up by James saw Alan smartly run out opener Colin Quigley then Andy and Bob Chapman (another ORP "guest") set about the bowling more intently Andy with boundaries and Bob with singles! Ed then caught Andy off Macca and it was 51-2 off 6 overs. John McCreedie came on and bowled a tight over for 4 then Don performed some magic with a first ball caught and bowled with another C&B in the same over for a double wicket maiden; 51-4!

John went for a single then Don started to get hit. Macca claimed Ed Corbett for 20 thanks to a confident catch in the deep by Brian. Pat Wisbach joined Bob (still in!) and took Don to the cleaners with 25 off the final over (3 huge sixes) to give him figures of 4-1-51-2! Innings total off 14 overs was 111-5. Macca: 4-0-25-2, John: 2-0-5-0, Ed 4-0-26-0 but had two catches dropped off his bowling. Something to chase after all!

James and Shaun opened and, in the first over, after a boundary and a single from James, Shaun faced Andy. He was well tempted first ball to go for a big one. It reached the sky and was well held by Ed Corbett. In came John and the pair took the score on quickly to around the hundred mark before Corbett bowled John for 43 (5 fours and a six). Roy came in to assist and managed 7 not out whilst James finished off with 58 not out (6 fours and a six). Man of the Match too.

Rowlands are thus confirmed as Champs again and can enjoy Monday at Home to Fenham
