Matt decided to bat first and started with Colin Tait. Colin was closely run out for 11 (one 4) so Davo joined Matt. After blitzing three 4s Davo was bowled by Myers for 14. In came David the Ladd who struggled tonight and was lbw Greener for a rare duck. Roy was well caught for only 2 but in came the enimatible Keith Brown to take control! He lost Matt suberbly caught by a rolling Davy Greener who had all the time in the world at mid wicketish off Paul Smith. Matt had done well for his 34 with a 5 and two fours. Keith dominated the bowling to reach 50 not out including three huge 6s and two 4s. Gregg got over enthusiastic after being pegged back by Smith and ran himself out, Robbie Burns was lbw Smith and James in his own way reached 13 (two 4s) before being caught off Smith. That slip, sweep 4 was a classic mate! Martin managed one not out and Don was padded up, threatening, but not required, as usual!
137-8 off 16*8 ball overs was eventually a tough act to follow despite Paul Smith's 4-31. And so it proved. James Morris and Don Catley opened up well. James 4-0-17-2 took out Aussie Andrich (top scorer with 20) thanks to a superb running in catch by Matt and veteran Tom Nichol and Don 4-0-16-2 accounted for Vergo and Jarvis, aided by a catch by Roy near the sqare leg boundary. In stepped Man of the Match Keith to take 3-22 off only 3 overs with good catches by Matt and Colin and Martin Rownan in a rare appearanace between exams and holidays captured 2-14 off 2.1 including a stumping by young Gregg. What a win for Rowlands with Pins all out for 76 and not even a bowling point, wheras Rowlands took maximum 10 points from the game.
