FHCC

The FHCC squad is made up of the following players.

Aidan Phillips Aidan Phillips
Hayley has released him from his corrie antics for 2008 season. A stalwart of the team he bowls a canny medium pacer with a deceptive change of pace. A solid fielder despite his penchant for wearing frictionless trainers which hindered his mobility somewhat. Has yet to reach his potential with the bat but has received rave reviews during the early season nets. Surely that big score is just around the corner.

Alex Cook Alex Cook
Another talented player from the Cook family. By his own admission failed to hit top gear with the bat last term but is hoping to redress that this season. Made up for it with a string of good bowling displays. Was involved in a heated argument from the middle with his brother last year during a game at Ryton. Will have to control this side of his game if he is to avoid being hauled up in front of the club's disciplinary panel once again.

Alex Lunn Alex Lunn
Club Captain. Hailing from a long line of cricketers Alex is carrying on the family tradition in style. A solid batsman and bowler he returned record figures of 6 - 12 last year. He will be hoping to continue that sort of form this year, if selected.

Andrew Maxwell Andrew Maxwell
Club Secretary. Finished last season on a real high with the bat after a patient and ultimately match winning 35* against Sparta. Despite this valuable contribution he was roundly abused by his team mates for a slow scoring rate. Hopefully will translate this form into the new season. Bowls a handy medium pace however was let down by some lapses in the field. Cemented FHCC's place in the league with a passionate speech at the league AGM.

Daniel Benjamin Daniel Benjamin
Club Treasurer. Was the natural choice for Treasurer given his financial background. Has made the wicketkeeper/batsman berth his own after some expansive batting and tidy glovework. One of the first names on the teamsheet meaning the previous wicketkeeper faces a real battle to get back in the side.

Fabio D'oca Fabio D'oca
Has rolled back the years when he opened the bowling memorably for St Cuthberts. Demonstrated his remarkable fielding ability on debut for FHCC with three incredible (dropped) catches. Could be lost soon to international duty with a cap for the Italian national side just around the corner. Also, remarkably funny but true, he is the love child of West Indian star Ramnaresh Sarwan. Go Fabs

James Pentland James Pentland
Always the first to nominate himself for Man of the Match. His persisitent requests to open the batting and bowling will surely be met soon. Always keen to protect his average, the FHCC "Boycs" has been a star performer this year.

JJ Fletcher JJ Fletcher
After an extended break away from the game, JJ Fletcher has returend to cricketing action this season hungry for some bat and balls. Legendary in his time on the Links, with JJ, Jerri and Jinx, he will be a welcome addition to the squad

Matt Cook Matt Cook
The third (and arguably best) Cook to join the squad. After a promising debut could be a fixture in the side for the rest of the season. But whats that phrase about too many Cooks....?

Matt Linsley Matt Linsley
Brought up in true Yorkshire cricketing Fashion, Matthew is a classy all rounder who boasts an array of talent with both bat and balls (especially balls). He will be an important addition for FHCC this year and much is expected of 'The Yorkshire Ripper' as he is now being controversially dubbed.

Michael Sutcliffe Michael Sutcliffe
A talented batsmen and pacy bowler who is still lving off the back of a brilliant 47 against Dame Allans in 1996. Has yet to deliver a big score since then but surely it is only a matter of time as he has looked back to his best in the pre season nets.

Patrick Newcombe Patrick Newcombe
An express bowler who was blighted by injury last term meaning we failed to see his true potential. Lets hope "The Duke" has left his injury nightmare behind him.

Paul Brown Paul Brown
Birmingham City have released Paul 'Liam Ridgewell' Brown for the last few months of the premier league season. A new recriut for the first season of league cricket. Judging by the early season form in the nets he could be one of the signings of the winter with good all round diaplays in the nets.

Phil Johnson Phil Johnson
A late addition to this seasons squad. Has had some comedy slides around the field which have left some permanent stains in his beige slacks. Unable to train because of poker commitments - he is the Shane Warne of FHCC.

Rob Murphy Rob Murphy
A reall find for FHCC, Mr Cricket has made the openers slot his own. His season last time out was cut short in its prime by a broken thumb. Having just regained full fitness his pre season was turned upside down by twisted ankle ligaments received playing football. Is hoping to be back for the start of the season. FHCC are crossing the fingers.

Rory Cook Rory Cook
Team Captain. An exploseive batsmen and express bowler he rewrote the club record books last season with an average of above 80. Hopefully this form can continue into 2008. Campaigned unsuccesfully to change the club name to Cook's Cricket Club which was rightfully vetoed by the club committee.

Ross Kane Ross Kane
Signed as the overseas player for 2008 from Amadebad Cricket club, Ross is a good all rounder who entertained us with some fireworks with the bat last year and some tidy bowling. More of the same is expected this time round on the evidence of the early season net sessions.

Stephen Johnson Stephen Johnson
Club Founder. Was tempted with a big money move to London but has yet to find a team down there. An excellent wicketkeeper/batsmen but faces an uphill battle to get back into the team given the form of his replacement. May have to be content with a run out in friendlies.

No Picture Steve Cambell

Tom MacGregor Tom MacGregor
Taking a break from Man Utds heavy pre season schedule, Tom aka Park Ji Sung is a handy batsmen who is lightening fast across the field. Does well with the birds too

Tom Whitworth Tom Whitworth
Former Liverpool rower extrodinaire, Tom has been plucked from the obscurity of back injuries and teaching to join the ranks of FHCC. Made an instant impact on debut with a swashbuckling knock and will add super strength to the FHCC middle order. A welcome addition to the team.

Umar Umar
General all round hero. Saved Fabio from an average existence, pulling him up to superstar status in the process. Wears sunglasses when he bats because he can, and is perhaps the most talented fielder in FHCC history!
