TW Fire & Rescue Service History

Tyne & Wear Metropolitan Fire Brigade became Tyne & Wear Fire & Rescue Service (TWFRS) in 2003.
There has been a cricket section within TWFRS Sports & Social Section for many years. Due to a decline in playing members in 2000 we did not enter a team in 2001. In 2002 Colin McGuire and Ian Warne resurected the team and joined forces with kibblesworth CC, who had also struggled to put out teams on a regualar basis. Since starting up again we have made the cup final and worked our way up to Division 1 for the first time in our history.
