Presentations Evening Well Attended.

The league data were all approved without any changes; all trophies were collected and the evening was enjoyed by 22 teams present.
Eight absent teams are each fined £10: North Star,
NE Tamils, West End, Wylam, AJK, Hexham Leazes, NE4 and Fenham Falcons.

Civil Service were present without registering.

Presentations Meeting Thursday 1st September at Jesmond

The Agenda can be downloaded. The meeting starts at 7:30 pm prompt; presentations at 8:15 pm and a hot buffet will be available at 8:45 pm.

All clubs are expected to attend with at least one representative. Fines of £10 will apply to absent clubs.

Please ensure all cups, shields and salvers are returned in good time for the Presentations.

OPtimum Sports Cup Final And Paddlers Plate

Finals Day was held at Kirkley CC on Sunday 21st August.
The League are grateful to Kirkley for their excellent hosting arrangements.

Paddlers Plate Final: SSBCC beat Eaga Old Boys 11am
Eaga Old Boys won the toss and invited SSBCC to bat first. They lost 2 wickets in the first over to Dave Gunion but recovered to post 156-7 from 16 off 8 ball overs. Man of the Match Naeem made 61 and Mihad was 23 not out. Gunion took 2-21 off his 4 overs, John Rook 3-53 off 4 and Dave Hadley 2-46 off 4. In replay Eaga were always behind the rate but late hitting took them only 9 runs short on 147-3. Andy Jennison made 31, Cal Coleman 33 and Jim Blacklock 49 and James Adair was 22 not out. For SSBCC Rasel, Samun and Naeem each took a wicket.
Optimum Cup Final: Newcastle Stars beat Eelam Boys 2:30pm
Eelam Boys won the toss and elected to bat. Opener Ross Symington top scored with 12 as the Boys were dismissed in the 14th over for 68. Ihsan ul Haq took 3-17 from his opening 4 overs, JD Mirza 2-16 off 3 and Waleed 2-10 off 2 overs and took three good catches. The Newcastle Stars reply was efficient with Man of the Match Hamza Amin 39 not out, Omar Shahid 15 and Faisal 10 not out to win by 9 wickets in the 7th over.

Umpires were Peter Young and Keith Lowes with Rachel Douse (Kirkley) kindly scoring both games.
