Andy Bryant of Adders is raising funds for MacMillan Cancer Care by playing a group golfing 'marathon' on Sunday. He thanks their sponsors: Brewlab, Waren House hotel in Bamburgh, Neptune fish restaurant in Seahouses, Costa Coffee, prize doners and the 4 courses. He is encouraging further donations vi the link:

Andy Bryant is involved in a team of 4 doing the MacMillan longest day golf challenge again this year where the team are playing 4 rounds of golf in a day on 4 different golf courses along the Northumberland coastline. The challenge will take place on Sunday 17th July but funds can be collected until early September. The team are trying to get a signed shirt from a footballing legend as a prize to encourage donations and those that donate at least £5 on the Just Giving page have chance to win one of a number of prizes. Those who donate on the page will be randomly drawn for prizes (also including 4 ball golf vouchers for various different courses and other prizes) on 31st August. The team are aiming to raise £2000 in anticipation of generous donations.

NCL won the toss at Bates Cottages on Sunday and elected to bat. They posted 208-8 off 40 overs with 7 batsmen making double figures and S Wales top scoring with 57 not out from a good variety of shots! Richard Crawford and Matthew Walton each took 2 wickets and there were two catches and a superb run out from Jaswinder Singh.
The NEMWCL President's XI replied with 174 all out in the 38th over after a good start with six batsmen in double figures and Singh top scoring with 37 and the good crowd transfixed for the next big shot. Richie Crawford hit a quick 30 as wickets fell. Pace man J Birkett took 5-39 as the hosts faltered.
In the absence of Malcolm Kennedy, away in Somerset, League Secretary Don Catley presented the cup to NCL skipper Mark Lawrence.
