Scorers Course 9th April Cancelled

We have had only 4 members registering for the course and the NCB have decided that it is thus not viable. The 4 have been added to another date which is online and now over subscribed.

Cup Draw

A difficult night for attendance but the meeting was conducted and the Cup Draw as attached was made. Ties should be arranged within the two weeks either side of the Easter weekend.

In view of the circumstances it has been decided that NO FINES for ABSENCE will be levied.

Thanks to those who did attend.

I have 14 off Handbooks packs to post out so would those teams please email me a postal address.

UPDATED: Agenda for the Handbooks Meeting Tuesday 25th March

Please download the Agenda which includes the Cup draw to be made.

NB with a move towards digital recording of games, a dedicated scorers’ course to be held at Benwell Hill CC on Wednesday 9th April 7-9 pm to look at instant scoring via the play-cricket app for games. The tutors will be Sam Blacklock, assisted by John Ruddick. Attendees are recommended to take a device with the app already in place to allow an easier process on the evening. Clubs are encouraged to send at least one member. Numbers for the course will be assessed at this meeting.

Malcolm Kennedy

Sadly, our President Dr. Malcolm Kennedy CBE passed away on Sunday 16th March. All sympathies to his dear wife Pat and the family which includes grandson David who played occasionally for Merz and McLellan when visiting the area. Malcolm had been very much part of the League since its inception in the early 70s and President since July 1999. RIP Malcolm
UPDATE: Thank you for your so many tributes which I have been receiving. Pat is most grateful to acknowledge these. Please also find thanksgiving details attached.

Scorers Course 9th April

The NCB have kindly set up a link for candidates to sign up for the face to face scorers course at Benwell Hill CC on the 9th April for the North-East Mid-Week League clubs to register.
