Northumberland Cricket Board Officials Association have organised a series of Introductory Officials courses to provide a first taste of umpiring and scoring. No previous experience is required, the course will cover: The Role of the Umpire, Dress Code, Positioning, No Ball, Wide Ball, Main Dismissals, Scoring of Runs, Byes and Leg Byes, Calls and Signals Given to Scorers, The Over, Other Dismissals.
28th February –NCL House, Hexham 2nd March – Westgate Centre for Sport, Newcastle 7th March – Ashington Cricket Club 9th March – Alnwick Cricket Club
Each 6:30 –9:00pm

Congratulations to Robert Tulip who opened the batting with the lovely Dawn on 19th December at Headlam Hall despite the snow. Andy Bryant was best man (so he claimed) and Gary Dixon provided some thoughtful evening entertainment.

Message from Ian Wardle: Northumberland Cricket Board Coaches Association have the opportunity to nominate coaches for the annual Sky Sports Coach Awards. The awards are a way of saying thank you to people who have made a significant contribution to the support and development of coaches and coaching in cricket.
There are 3 award categories:
1) Outstanding Contribution and Services to Cricket Coaching
2) Outstanding Coaching Achievement
3) Young Coach of the Year
Forms for each category are attached inviting nominations to ian.wardle@northumberlandcricketboard.co.uk by Friday 28th January.

Montgomery CC who hail from Mid Wales are seeking touring fixtures. They will be a mixed strength side who could hold their own in Div 2 of the NEMWCL. They intend to be in the area from 24th-28th July (staying in Whickham)and would like to arrange matches for those dates. Tynemouth CC have offered Tuesday 26th.

The attached containes extracts from the Evening Chronicle Grass Roots Section of 22nd and 29th September based on photographs which we supplied. Perhaps next season more winning teams can anticipate the request for team photos! Anyway, well done to all award winners.
