Ryton eventually get the season started

After the disappointment of conceeding 2 games early in the season due to fixture congestion, Ryton started their first midweek game last week with a convincing win over neighbours Merz. With Ryton fielding 3 new players to the club, it was left to Captain Caveman 'Archie' to knock an impressive 59 not out with some massive hits over the pavillion, much to the anger of one nearby resident who may have been surprised by a ball landing in front of his lawn mower!

With Ryton out of the midweek league cup, this week allows us to rearrange one of our missed games against Park House. Ryton v Park House will take place on Thursday 12th June with a 6pm start.

Ryton v Aletasters - Wednesday 21st May

Unfortunately, due to a busy week for the 1st team, wehave had to conceed the game against Aletasters to ensure we have 11 players for the 1st team cup game away at Sacriston.

Let's hope for better fortune next Tuesday's away trip to Cochrane Park against the Paddlers.

Round 1 of the cup v Seaton Burn

Unfortunately, Seaton Burn have struggled to field 11 players for tonights game and have pulled out. So no game fella's I'm afraid. There will be a practice session instead from 5.30pm, plus Ryton Comprehensive 6th Form are holding a fundraising night at the club tonight with live music etc - so please get along there and support their efforts if you can.

Midweek Cup - Round 1 v Seaton Burn at home Friday 16th

Due to fixture congestion and the fact that senior team cup matches must be played this week, Ryton's midweek cup game against Seaton Burn is now being played on Friday night 6pm at Ryton. With games being played every night this week and both Saturday and Sunday, we are grateful to the groundstaff Brian Scott and Keith Morris Snr for their hard work in preparing numerous excellent wickets!! 1st game of the season - Ryton Hoops v Parkhouse...postponed

Hopes of kicking off the new season on Thursday 1st May have been swiftly kicked into touch thanks to the weather and a sodden pitch. Yes, folks, Ryton's first midweek game against Parkhouse has had to be postponed till another day.
Alternative dates are currently being looked at and agreed between the two sides. Once a date is fixed, the fixture list will be updated accordingly.
