Minutes of the AGM

(Posted On Thu 13 February, 2014)

At the well attended AGM of the North-East Mid-Week Cricket League, held at Blue Flames Sporting Club on 5th February, thirty seven clubs were expected to take part in the 2014 season. The league has been running since the late 1960s and operates with five divisions of ideally eight teams. There is also the sponsored Just Sport knock out cup.

Fixtures are now being confirmed, but there is at least one vacancy in Division 5 for a further club to join several newly elected clubs. The League season commences in late April and runs to mid August. The mid-week format of 16 off 8 ball overs is suitable for players of all ages and standards with the exclusion of professional players. The teams are a good mix of cricket clubs and nomadic groups based on the workplace or recreational organisations.

Interested clubs may wish to see www.midweekcricket.com and apply to the Secretary, Don Catley on 07986 307 688 or don@catley.org.

Teams who have not yet sent in their Registration Forms or completed the Questionaire or paid their League Fees are requested to do so soonest.
