LEAGUE RECORDS SMASHED!!!! "Haji Slays Genetics......"

In their firsrt season in Division 1 of the North-East Mid-Week Cricket League, YAARS are certainly into their stride. Currently leading the table with three victories in four outings they outplayed last season's Champions Genetics in grand style. At Cochrane Park on a glorious 1st June they hit 240-3 off 16 eight ball overs. Mark Little's 31 paled into insignificance compared with a double record bursting innings of 192 not out from M Saqib "Haji" which include 22 sixes and 10 fours. The previous best for the league, with records dating back to 1972, was set in 1994 by Ivan Jepson of NE Water with 158 not out and 13 sixes with 16 fours. Genetics replied with a respectable 144-6 with J Bennett 25, M Davidson 54 and Jon Robinson 32. Zayn Ahmed claimed 3-23 off his 4 overs and Mustanser Billy Ahmed 2-49 off his.
