Macmillan Cancer Care Blagdon 6s 27th June 2010
YAARS REHAN Trophy!!!
All four teams who took part in the competition this year were from the North-East Mid-Week Cricket League. Kings School Old Boys had two teams and YAARS and The Boiler Clinic were the others.
A round robin saw YAARS win ALL their three games and the others one each. A bowl out resulted in the Boiler Clinic winning through with two strikes from Don Catley and Roy Haygarth against one each from Kings A & B with Marcus Turner and Phil Morse the hit men.
The final resulted in a tie at 58 each and then there was a toss of coin because YAARS favoured a super over rather than the bowl out preferred by the Boiler Clinic. YAARS heads won this! Boiler Clinic scored a creditable 19 off their over with Roy supported by Sam Thornton. However, YAARS hit 23 to take the trophy with Northumberland 3 counties League individual highest score record holder 267* M REHAN supported by Naveed Iqbal DC 333.
Congratulations to YAARS for the second year running.
