GEM CC v Fenham (28 May 2008) – 14 over League Match Played @ Wardley.
This match was a cracker! GEM managed to register their most successful run chase @ their home ground in years. Fenham won the toss and chose to bat. They were all out for '130' in 13.3 over’s (8 ball overs). GEM's most successful bowler on the day was the new recruit P. Dayal who returned 4|0|22|3.
GEM began the run chase badly and were at one stage reduced to 30/5 in 5 overs with some disciplined bowling by Fenham’s opening duo of Mukhtar and Riaz. That’s when Kamran Khan aka F-16 came to centre stage. He paced his innings nicely in the fading light and was ably supported by A. Akram and N. Iqbal; although most of the talking was done by Kamran’s bat. F-16 clobbered 5 huge sixes and three 4’s to register his highest score (67) in the League & in the process brought GEM a vital victory in 13.3 over's (which looked unlikely at one stage).
